 Lenten season: Time for change begins in Indore with Ash Wednesday today

 Each year, many Christians from varying denominations welcome the new buds of spring with the celebration of Lent. It is also referred to as the Lenten season and Great Lent. It is the time to remind us of Jesus’ . A 40 day trial of fasting and temptation in the wilderness.The celebration of Lent is a six-week-long event in the Christian calendar when Christians are meant to be encouraged to find their own method of confronting their sinfulness, remembering their mortality, and giving thanks for the gift of salvation they receive through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

 


Then Lenten Season this year started on February 17 or also called as “Ash Wednesday” where a priest gather ashes and rub on people’s forehead to signify “we are dust and to dust we return.”. But due to the COVID- 19 pandemic , everyone should practice proper health protocols where there should be social distancing, use of facemasks and faceshields. In order to rub the ash without touching one another , they used cotton. Limited persons only are inside the church for a lower risk of getting the virus. In order for all the people to participate, masses is broadcasted on a radio and also on a television.

Despite of the pandemic people do cherished the time to grow in and strengthen our faith, which binds us together and makes all things possible because of our love and devotion to Jesus. It’s an opportunity to repent for our misdeeds and misgivings and to increase the intensity of our prayer, fasting, almsgiving, practice of our faith and welcoming others as our brothers and sisters in our faith community.

    Time flies so fast for I am now moving on to the third quarter of my grade 10 journey. As always I learned new topics this second quarter. Just like the first grading period, I will share my experience from the subject who made me do blogging, ICT! . Think of this as my “ Through out my ICT Learnings ver. 2.0”. For this quarter , I learned so much mostly the terms related to HTML such as tags. There are so many tags that sometimes I am confused by which tag will I used but I am lucky enough to learn it with a not so short time . I learned how to use notepad.      Its been a year since the COVID 19 pandemic started and millions of cases up until now were continuously reported . after a few months of this pandemic, severl vaccines were presented from different countries . The Philippines is the last Southeast Asian nation to receive a COVID-19 vaccine supply. But its better having one than having nothing. On this year, month of February , the first batch of vaccine arrived in our country.
